I Searched for Reason

This one came after a talk with one of my teammates in the Army. He was feeling lost and this came out after we got done talking.

I searched for reason today
But couldn’t find it.

I looked in life

I looked in the bottle
but both remained empty.

I tried to die today
But I couldn’t find the way
I was pulled from in front of me

So I will find something to do
Hopefully something worthwhile.

I will fight the elements that hold me
And I will care never again.
