By My Side
I wrote By My Side after spending a night thinking back on where I'd been in my life.
I was thinking through things I'd done, mistakes I made, mistakes I didn't make, and how it felt when I had yet to let my faith become central in my life.
The thing I remembered most was always thinking, "there has to be more." I'm blessed that I found out there is "more," and my hope with this song is it helps someone else who may be in a similar state to what I was realize that with belief in something, they won't have to ask that question any longer.
Verse 1:
Looking out on the horizon
wondering what we’re searching for.
So many lost and broken,
can’t see what all this is for,
there has to be more.
And then I first heard that sound.
Your voice all around,
my heart filled with fear,
nowhere I could hide.

There has to be more

The pain and hate they subside
when I let Your love arrive.
