Rest Of My Life
This was written for my new book, tentatively titled Rise From the Fall.
The book will have at least an album worth of original lyrics, some new, some already on here.
Verse 1 (Male singer):
Laying here beside you
watching you dream as you sleep
Can’t put my finger on it
but there’s something about you.
I got something to ask you
just don’t know that I’ll ever get the nerve
so I look down and whisper
will you be mine for the rest of my life?
Chorus (Male singer):
And here I am, with everything to lose
but having you here
I know I don’t ever want this feeling to end.
So I’ll take the leap
praying I don’t cause this all to fall apart
by asking if you’ll be mine for the rest of my life
Verse 2 (Female singer):
Laying here with my eyes closed
waiting for you to put your head next to mine
don’t remember the last time I felt like this
safe and loved all at the same time.
I got something to ask you
just the fear or what you’ll say always makes me stop
and as you lay down next to me, I whisper
will you be mine for the rest of my life?
Chorus (Female singer):
And here I am, with everything to lose
but having you here
I know I don’t ever want this feeling to end.
So I’ll take the leap
praying I don’t cause this all to fall apart
by asking if you’ll be mine for the rest of my life.
Bridge (both):
I know there’ll be hard times coming
nothing’s good all the time
but as long as you’re there each night
and every morning when I open my eyes
there’s no where else I wanna be
for the rest of my life.
Chorus (both):
And here I am, with everything to lose
but having you here
I know I don’t ever want this feeling to end.
So I’ll take the leap
praying I don’t cause this all to fall apart
by asking if you’ll be mine for the rest of my life
